CVB - 400: Jr Elite Volleyball

Jr Elite Volleyball is the introductory course for our Jr Elite athletes.  The class is the first step in the process of becoming a CAL Sports Elite Volleyball Player.  Players will begin to take on advanced skill and strategy game concepts that are being taught to higher level athletes.  The key to success in volleyball is to be challenged and master your skills.  As the class progresses, players will begin to experience and decide how they would like to contribute to their volleyball team.  Each week will introduce a different aspect of higher tier volleyball from offense to defense, setting to blocking.  Players will begin to decide their desired positions in the sport as well.  Concepts that will be covered include:

     - Correction of hitting and serving mechanics

     - Ability to read the court for defense and serve receive

     - Proper ball control and spot placement

     - Power control and proper use of strength in specific situations
